Kerala Tourism has succeeded in creating an impact with its participation in the ongoing Arabian Travel Mart, with the state’s tourism delegation led by Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism,
Cooperation and Devaswoms, doing its best to be noticed and appreciated on the global platform. Kadakampally Surendran held interactions with the local tourism players and presented before them the significance of travelling across Kerala and the warm welcome the state has been rolling out to tourists who visit the state’s travel destinations throughout the year.
The Minister also met with John Amaratunga, Minister for Tourism, Sri Lanka, at the Arabian Travel Mart venue. Besides, Kadakampally Surendran also held discussion with Jaykumar Rawal, Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, and also Salem Obaidulla, Senior Vice President – Aeronautics and Industry Affairs, Emirates. He also interacted with the participants from Kerala at the prestigious travel fair.
Kerala Tourism is participating in the Arabian Travel Mart, in Dubai, in a bid to tap the prospects that would enable a surge in tourism arrivals from the Arabian region. The Arabian Travel Mart will end on April 25. Tourism statistics have revealed that the number of travellers arriving from the Middle East to Kerala have been on the grown path, with tourists from the United Arab Emirates going up by 2.64 percent in 2017, as against the numbers of the previous year. Tourism arrivals from other countries in the region, such as Kuwait (up 14.33%) and Oman (up 5.75%) have also gone up over the past year.
The participation of Kerala Tourism at the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai is expected to help a great deal in luring an additional number of tourists every year. Top officials including Jafar Malik, Additional Director, Kerala Tourism, are part of the Kerala delegation.
