

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Third edition of Datham 2024 art exhibition, featuring the works of the disciples of renowned artist B.D. Dethan got opened at the Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery in Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan, Trivandrum. District Collector Anu Kumari inaugurated the art exhibition. The exhibition will be open from morning 10 am to 6.30 pm evening, and will go on till November 24.
This year’s show features the works of six talented artists: Dev Thomas George, Selina Haridas, Shrutika Vasanth, Sumitha Suseelan, Tomina Mary Jose, and Usha Rajagopal. Each artist has developed their craft under the esteemed guidance of B.D. Dethan, the celebrated artist and mentor, whose influence and inspiration resonate deeply within their work.
The exhibition presents an array of pieces across multiple mediums, including acrylic, oil, watercolor, and mixed media. Each artwork reflects the unique journey and perspective of its creator, yet all are united by the profound mentorship and support of their guru, B.D. Dethan. Together, these works form a vibrant tribute to his legacy, a celebration of color, creativity, and dedication.
The exhibition will offer a chance to witness the synergy of mentorship and artistry, as well as an opportunity to purchase original works from emerging talents. Artist B. D. Dethan and Zafin MD Suja Chandy also attended the inauguration event.
