Tesla motors has unveiled its much awaited electric sedan, Model-3. Being the latest, Model-3 is the most affordable among its brand with prices starting from $35,000. It is also the first mass-market made car introduced by Tesla.
Model 3 is equipped with a ‘high-efficiency electric motor’ and has a total of 7,200 Superchargers, which enables it to accelerate from 0Km/h to almost100Km/h within 6 seconds offering a driving range of over 200 miles along with the choice of all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. It shares most if its design with Model S and will have Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Jaguar XE as its contenders.
Though customer delivery will only begin by 2017, it has been receiving an enthusiastic response from all over the world with bookings exceeding 325,000 within a week’s time. Elon Musk, CEO of the company adds that it is also one of the safest cars in the world. Tesla plans to improve its sales in countries like India, Brazil, and South Africa.
