Technopark-based IT companies UST and Tata Elxsi lifted the men’s and women football titles respectively of the tournaments organised by Prathidhwani, the welfare and recreation forum of IT employees at Technopark, here.
While UST beat Infosys in the final of the ‘Raviz Prathidhwani 7s 2024’ for men by 1-0, Tata Elxsi emerged winners in the women’s final of ‘Raviz Prathidhwani 5s 2024’ (Ravis Prathidhwani Fives) trouncing H&R Block by 2-0.
This was the 7th edition of the men’s tournament and the women’s event was its fourth edition. The tournaments were organized in association with Raviz Hotels Group and Yoode Promotions.
Minister for Labour and General Education V Sivankutty kicked off the finals of the inter-company tournaments held at the Technopark Grounds.
Former Indian international footballer N P Pradeep gave away the trophies and prizes. Ayyappan Nallaperumal, GM, Leela Raviz, Kovalam; Sam Philip, GM, Leela Ashtamudi, Kollam, and Nagarajan Nadarajan, CEO, Yoode & iDynamics Software were also present.
The men’s tournament featured players from more than 100 IT companies and the women’s tournament had participants from 25 IT companies.
The sevens tournament winners got a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and the fives tournament winners were awarded Rs.15,000. Champions of both the tournaments got the rolling trophy, apart from one night stay at Raviz Hotels.
Besides, prizes were given to players of the tournament, best goalkeepers and top scorers in each category. All winners received special prizes sponsored by Yoode Promotions.
The two tournaments, the biggest football events in the IT sector, lasted three months with more than 175 matches being played before culminating the finals.
Allianz was the second runner up in the sevens tourney where QBurst got the Fair Play award. Jijin S (UST) was adjudged Player of the Match in the final while Roshan Robinson (H&R Block) won the Technopark Phase-1 Top Scorer prize.
Nolan Charles (UST), who was also the Top Scorer of the tournament, was chosen as the Player of the Tournament. Akhil Dev (Allianz) was the Best Goalkeeper of the sevens tourney.
Envestnet was the Second Runner Up of the Raviz Prathidhwani5s where Way.com won the Fair Play award. Ananya Shreya (TATA Elxsi) was chosen as Player of the Match while Jisha Gomez (TCS) and Amalumol Sabu (Infosys) were the top scorers.
Suji Krishna (Way.com) was adjudged as the Best Goalkeeper and Nikhila O S (TATA Elxsi) was selected as the Player of the Tournament.
