KOZHIKODE:
The Kozhikode Government Cyberpark team emerged champions at the Sahya Cricket League held at Cyberpark, defeating IOCOD Infotech by 21 runs in the final.
The prizes were distributed by former Qatar international cricketer Rassal, who is also a former coach of the MS Dhoni Academy in Doha, along with Vivek Nair, who is General Manager of the Government Cyberpark which hosted the tournament along with Sahya Cricket Club.
At Cyber Sports Arena, batting first, Cyberpark team scored 82 runs for two wickets in the stipulated eight overs. IOCOD’s total, in reply, was 61 for three.
Arun Krishna of Cyberpark team was named Man of the Match in the final. Sajan Basil of IOCOD became the best batsman of the tournament, and Vishnu GS of Cyberpark team the best bowler.
Overall, 18 teams from Government Cyberpark and Kerala Startup Mission Campus competed in the week-long knockout tournament that had 17 matches in total. Each team had nine members.
The opening match was on April 2 evening.
