Kochi: Government officials are considered public servants and when such a ‘ servant’ sends out an official circular about his birthday to his subordinates in the state, it is likely to raise eye brows.
Tomin J Thachankary, a senior police officer and currently the Transport Commissioner of Kerala, is in the eye of a storm for issuing an official circular announcing his birthday and listing his achievments. The official circular ends with a gentle reminder to the 2200 officials of the transport department to savour the cake he sent to them as part of the celebration.
