KOCHI:
A Students Chapter of Foundation for Restoration of National Values(FRNV) of which Dr.E.Sreedharan, Principal Advisor, DMRC is the founder President was formally inaugurated in the School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Techonlogy, Kochi, in the august presence of Prof (Dr) George Mathews, Principal, School of Engineering and Prof.M.R. Radhakrishna Panicker, Former Principal.
The first university to start the Students’ Chapter of FRNV was Amity University, Noida, New Delhi. Twenty eight Students drawn from 7 disciplines of Engineering and representing each academic year have volunteered to form the core group. One of the Professors will be designated as Patron of the Chapter.
FRNV is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit society registered on 8 th June 2008 in Delhi. Swami Bhoomanada Tirthaji a renowned Saint of Narayanashrama Tapovanam, Venginissery, P.O,Paralam, Thrissur is the inspiration and guide behind this movement. FRNV has an Advisory Board consisting of Justice M.N.Venkatachaliah, Former Chief Justice of India, Ratan N.Tata, Chairman Emeritus,Tata Group, Dr. E. Sreedharan, Principal Advisor, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, N.Vittal, Former Central Vigilance Commissioner, T.S.Krishnamoorthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner and Vibha Parthasarathi, Consultant in Education and Gender issues.
The prime aim of the students’ chapter is to instill the eternal values of the nation in them so as to make them responsible citizens of the country. They will thus become role models for other students for practicing high standard of ethics and values amongst themselves and towards the community. FRNV Students will undertake community services within the campus such as cleaning, gardening etc.and will promote fellowship, mutuality and brotherhood within the campus.
FRNV students will observe strict discipline in the campus, respect Faculty members and Elders and show empathy to the less fortunate students in the campus. In short, they will be the role models within the campus for other students to emulate.
