Spices Board Wins 10 Medals in 42nd Kerala Arm Wrestling Championship

Spices Board came out with flying colours in the 42nd Kerala State Arm Wrestling Championship, bagging a total of 10 medals, including two gold and three silver, in various categories.
Out of the 24 employees who represented the Board, 10 of them had the podium finish in the two-day championship, which was organised by the Kerala Arm Wrestling Association at V K N Indoor Stadium, Thrissur on April 21-22.These medal winners will participate in the 42nd National Wrestling Championship, which is to be held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from May 9-14.
While Varsha Shaji bagged two gold medals in women’s left and right hand 60 kg event; Priya Sivan (women left hand), Ciji Chacko (women right) and Likhil (men right hand) won silver medals in their respective categories. A total of five bronze medals were won by Nithin Joe (men left hand), Simi Ben and Sujitha (women left), and Rinsuklin and Priya Sivan (women right).
“This is truly a moment of pride and happiness as ten of our staff bagged medals and will represent the Board in the upcoming 42nd National Wrestling Championship. Our joy knows no bounds as of the 10 medal winners, eight are women,” Spices Board Chairman Dr A. Jayathilak said.
“We are proud of their achievements; we are very happy that our efforts to empower women by helping them to showcase their talents have borne fruit. We will continue to wholeheartedly support them in their future ventures too,” he added.
