THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A google map image being spread on social media by certain vested interests as the final alignment of the proposed Semi High-Speed Rail (SHSR) corridor from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod is highly misleading, clarified K-Rail here on Wednesday.
“The alignment of Silver Line and detailed project report (DPR) will be completed only by this month-end. But a fake image is being spread through social media as the alignment of the SHSR by connecting the ten stations in the rail corridor with straight lines. This is highly misleading,” informed K-Rail Managing Director Mr. V. Ajith Kumar.
Strict measures will be taken against those who propagate information that misleads the public and creates panic among them, he said. The primary alignment of the project is available at https://krdcl.co.in/gallery/rough-alignment-of-silver-line/
“The alignment of SHSR, named Silver Line, will be decided only after considering the geo- technical investigation, traffic study, and sky LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) survey along with the completion of the ongoing social impact study,” he added. K-Rail is a joint venture company of Government of Kerala and Ministry of Railways.
