  • Seminar on ‘Goods & Service Tax’

By NE Reporter on July 10, 2017

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
ICA Edu Skills, a leading skilling and training institute since 1999, in association with the Department of Commerce, Rajadhani Business School, organized an exclusive Seminar on the highly relevant issue–“Goods & Service Tax” — on July 7 th at their campus in Thiruvananthapuram.
The program was attended by around 220 participants, including college faculties and students. The objective of the program was to help faculty members and students update themselves with the GST implication in India and the far-reaching changes taking place in the economy and its impact on education and career opportunities post the roll out.
ICA has taken the initiative of GST awareness in colleges across India. The GST speaker CA M.M Zachariah addressed the participants and provided them an understanding on the GST Law, its needs and benefit in the current taxation system and how it will have an impact on career opportunities. They also gave an extensive knowledge of all the aspects of GST to the participants along with an understanding of the skills required to be effective teachers in sync with the market and industry requirement.
Speaking of the relevance of this seminar, Prabha Baid, Sr Manager, said, “ICA believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in the core and frontier areas through innovative educational and training programs. Our aim is to offer learning solution to individuals, enterprises and institutions across the country. The seminars were required to increase the knowledge base of faculty members, and help with the employability of students, which is an urgent need of the hour”.
Rajith Karunakaran Nair, Director, Rajadhani Business School, Thiruvananthapuram, said, “It was a great opportunity for us and all the faculties along with the students to acquaint them with the changing economic environment and employment opportunities in the context of GST. We were happy to collaborate with ICA Edu Skills in this endeavor. It was heartening to see the enthusiasm of both the faculty members and the students for this program.”
ICA Edu Skills is one of India’s best vocational training institutes, with a presence in 100+ cities and a substantial presence in non-urban areas across the country. It takes pride in contributing to India’s skill-building initiatives independently, as well as a partner with institutions and governments. The company believes in building a well-informed and intellectual academic society. The Faculty Development Program was part of this social objective.
