THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The SBT Literary-Media Awards for the year 2016 have been announced. The awards started in 1996 have entered its 21st year now. The 
‘Aparigraham’ by Prabha Varma (Poetry Collection), ‘Ente Priyappetta Kathakal’ by K.P.Ramanunni (Short Story), ‘Pandu Pandu Kuzhiyanakalude Kalathu’ by Dr.Radhika C.Nair (Children’s Literature) and ‘Pareekkutty Enna Vasco Da Gama’ by Valsalan Vathussery (Literary Criticism) bags the awards in Literature Categories. The media
award for Human Interest Story in Malayalam Dailies goes to Nileena Atholy of Mathrubhumi Daily for ‘Ardhajeevithangalude Arakshithavasthakal’.
Dr.P.Soman, Dr.C.R.Prasad and Dr.A.G.Oleena in Poetry, Prof:M.K.Sanu, P.K.Parakkadavu and Dr.M.Rajeev Kumar in Short Story, Dr.K.Sreekumar, Vinu Abraham and V.V.Kumar in Children’s Literature, Dr.L.Thomas Kutty,
Dr.B.V.Sasikumar and K.C.Narayanan in Literary Criticism, G.Sankar, Civic Chandran and Saji James in Human Interest Stories, were the Jury members.
The award winners in all the five categories will receive a cash prize of Rs.25,000 each and a memento designed by artist Bhattathiri. The awards will be distributed in the ‘SBT Malayala Sammelanam’, probably to be conducted in November 2016.
