As the action on day 1 of first & final round of MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2019 reached its peak, the IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team snapped 3 podiums in ProStock 165cc & ProStock 201-300cc.
The MMRT race track witnessed Honda’s star rider Sarath Kumar getting closer to grab the rider championship in PS165cc category with a jam packed performance over powering his competitor from the get-go. The PS201-300cc saw the Hubli boy Anish Shetty clocking in his 6th victory of the season. While, Mohamed Mikail once again stole the limelight by locking in the fastest lap time 1:46:758 at MMRT in 250cc and winning the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup NSF250R championship win.
Outlining the rider’s performance of Day 1, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Today, I’m very happy with commendable performances by Sarath Kumar & Rajiv Sethu in the Red flagged race keeping us well in line to win the triple crown victory in PS165cc for the 5th consecutive year. In PS201-300cc, the consistent performance by Anish Shetty has helped him seal the championship with one more race to go. Meanwhile, it is a proud moment for team Honda as our next-gen rider Md. Mikail broke the fastest lap record at Chennai track and wins the NSF250R championship. Our dream developing the calibre of next-gen & be in a bunch fighting it out for the podium has come true in this round with most riders clocking similar timing in NSF250 class.
