THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
In an effort to eradicate the consumption of drugs amongst school children, Sanjeevani, the employee-led CSR group of Infosys Thiruvananthapuram Development Centre launched an anti-drugs awareness campaign today.
The initiative aims at creating awareness about the adverse effects of drug consumption amongst the youth. To achieve this, the team plans to cover two schools per quarter. The campaign targets Higher Secondary (HS) and Higher Secondary School (HSS) students between the age group of 12 – 17.
The team organized a day-long event for the students at the Bishop Pereira Memorial English School in Mangalapuram, Thiruvananthapuram which was inaugurated by V K Prashanth, Mayor, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. The gathering was also addressed by Sunil Jose, Development Centre Head, Infosys Thiruvananthapuram & Trustee – Sanjeevani Charitable Trust. The other distinguished guests at the event were Mangalapuram Shafi, President, Mangalapuram Grama Panchayat and Praveen Varghese Thomas, Renowned Prolific Trainer and Youth Activist.
To make the event informative and captivating, the team screened short films, organized engaging activities such as interactive workshops and poster making competition. Around 500 school children participated in these activities.
Sanjeevani Charitable Trust has been playing a pivotal role in improving the lives of the marginalized groups. Since its inception in 2004, it has been focusing on building a better society.
