  • Safeducate’s ‘Green Dost’ Initiative Aims to Provide Skill-enhancing Training to Truck Drivers

By NE Reporter on December 4, 2018

    NEW DELHI:
In a move that highlights its commitment to upskilling the Indian workforce, Safeducate, India’s largest training, skilling and consulting firm that specializes in the domains of Supply Chain Management & Logistics, has announced the launch of a new initiative called ‘Green Dost’ for truck drivers across the country. It is a reward and recognition programme aimed to help them become successful entrepreneurs. In order to be eligible for this programme, applicants must have a valid driving license and be familiar with the local language of the area they are driving in.

Under the Green Dost initiative, eligible drivers will be given a truck by Safexpress in exchange for a nominal security amount, whereas Safeducate will provide them with the necessary grooming and skill-enhancing training sessions. Additionally, the programme will make them acquainted with the technologies adopted by Safeducate. Drivers will also receive financial aid which will help their businesses go off the ground. After the completion of 5 years, enrolled drivers will get their hands on a brand new truck that will be in their names. They can either choose to drive the trucks themselves or rent them out.

Commenting on the launch of its unique initiative, Divya Jain, Founder and CEO of Safeducate said, “It’s our mission to empower individuals from all walks of life with essential skills and training. Through Safeducate’s latest Green Dost programme, we want to provide a platform for truck drivers across the country who want to become entrepreneurs. This opportunity will enable them to maximize their skills on their journey towards a self-sustainable future. Post the completion of the programme, each participant will be provided with a truck of their own by Safexpress which they can use to pursue their business vision.”

Safeducate is constantly striving and upskilling the employability of Indians through its various learning programmes. The Green Dost initiative is another step aimed at imparting the right knowledge and developing suitable skills among professionals.
