  • Sadhikas of Dhyan Foundation Perform ‘Havan’ as World Ayurveda Congress Begins

By NE Reporter on December 13, 2024

    DEHRADUN:
As all major endeavours in India since ancient times begin by invoking the positive energy embodied by fire as the purest element, the Sadhikas (women volunteers) of Dhyan Foundation came here from Delhi to perform the ‘havan’ as the 10th the World Ayurveda Congress (WAC 2024) got under way at the Parade Grounds today.

The idea of the ritual is purification of the surroundings and thought processes of the people related to this conclave of immense significance so that the entire world will benefit from its deliberations, said Sadhika Rima Anand of the Delhi-headquartered Dhyan Foundation.

“Ayurveda is part of our Vedic Science which looks at the whole world as one family and emphasizes that all scientific pursuits should benefit all. Ony India can teach the world Ayurveda in its purest and unadulterated form. The Dhyan Foundation is dedicated to imparting the knowledge of Vedic science, as inspired by its guiding light Ashwini Guruji,” she said.

“We think that the World Ayurveda Foundation is doing a great service through this initiative to augment the global comeback of Ayurveda by bringing together the entire spectrum of stakeholders from around the world ,” she said.

On the focal theme of the WAC 2024, “ Digital Health—An Ayurveda Perspective”, Rima Anand, herself an expert on Artificial Intelligence, said leveraging new technologies is good as far as that helps the global outreach of Ayurveda in its authentic form to build a healthy world.

Though leveraging technology tools and platforms is important in today’s world, the fact cannot be glossed over that the sages who developed Ayurveda as a holistic wellness system knew the minutest and the most intricate details of health science and enshrined them in classical texts, which are more relevant now than ever before, she added.

The largest international conclave of Ayurvedic practitioners, researchers, administrators, diplomats, teachers and students, the biennial event is organised by the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF), an initiative of Vijnana Bharati.

More than 5500 participants are participating in the event, including over 350 overseas delegates from 54 countries.

The event features over 150 scientific sessions and 13 associate events besides plenary sessions.

In line with its focal theme, ‘Digital Health, An Ayurveda Perspective’, the four-day event will set the stage for in-depth deliberations on leveraging new technologies to more effectively deliver solutions and reconfigure R&D projects relating to Ayurveda.
