KOCHI:
The sixth edition of Rotary Olympics for Special Education Students (ROSES), an initiative of Rotary international District 3201 for the special school students in the state, is to be conducted on 2018 November 24, Saturday.
To be held at UC college, Aluva, the competitions will be inaugurated by Rotary International District 3201 District Governor Elect Rotarian Madhav Chandran. ROSES 2018 is being jointly organized by Rotary clubs of Cochin International Airport, Cochin West and Cochin Tricity. ROSES is being conducted for the intellectual and competitive betterment of children who are physically and mentally differently abled.
Dronacharya Rotarian K. P. Thomas Master and Rajas Thomas, president, Idukki district athletic association will lead the competitions. More than 1500 students from Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulum, Thrissur and Palakkad districts will participate in the competition in 8 categories. Apart from championship trophy and certificates, every student participating in ROSES will be given prizes. Rotary has also set up transportation, accommodation, food and medical aid for these students. Rotary International District 3201,District Governor Rotarian A. V. Pathi will distribute the prizes.
During the breaks of the competition there will be music program by famous musician Nandha Menon and the Music Band of children from Mother and Child Foundation Thodupuzha, announced Rajas Thomas, Romilal and Bibu Punnooran, Achuthan Mathoor, R.C.Nair representatives of Rotary Club.
