KOCHI:
Rashtriya Janatadal (RJD) State president Anu Chacko registered strong protest against the recent acquittal of the accused in the mysterious death and sexual exploitation of two minor Dalit girls at Walayar.
She pointed out that the accused were acquitted even after there were evidence against them. She pointed out that the women and children do not have any safety on Kerala.
There is a serious concern about the government refusing to heed to the demand of the Opposition for a CBI probe into the Walayar case. When the Opposition gave a notice for moving an adjournment motion on the matter at the Zero Hour in the Assembly, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the government will ‘seriously examine’ if a CBI probe or a re-investigation in the case is needed and would take action accordingly.
The Government should take stern action against the accused to take into confidence of the people that such a situation will not happen in future. The accused in the case should be punished as per the law, she added.
