Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday announced that India has achieved its highest ever growth in defence production for the fiscal year 2023-24, reaching a record value of Rs. 1,26,887 crore. This marks a notable 16.8% increase from the previous year.
In his official statement, Singh highlighted the progress made under the Make in India initiative, which he said is setting new benchmarks annually. ‘The Make in India programme is crossing new milestones, year after year, under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi,’ Singh noted.
The minister also extended his congratulations to both public sector undertakings involved in defence manufacturing and private industry players. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering a more favorable environment for developing India as a leading global defence manufacturing hub.
