THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
India Posts will be issuing a special stamp to mark the centenary of SMSS Hindu Mahila Mandiram here on November 27, 2019 (Wednesday).
The first cover cancellation to commemorate the services of the institution will also be held at the ceremony, on the sidelines of the philatelic exhibition Kerapex 2019 at Bhagyamala Auditorium at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium.
The special stamp and cover will be released by Viji. M.R, Director, Postal Accounts, Kerala Circle, at the function at 10 am. M.Sreekumari, Secretary, Mahila Mandiram, will receive the stamp and the first cover.
The stamp carries the image of Mahila Mandiram founder K Chinnamma, a pioneer in women’s education and empowerment in Kerala. The postal cover depicts the picture of Chinnamma and the institution she founded and nurtured.
