“An interdisciplinary approach in conformity with the changing international educational scenario, is of utmost importance to post graduate students” , said Dr. K N Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology.
He was addressing the audience after inaugurating ‘Vidyarambham’, the induction programme of the newly admitted PG students of various departments of CUSAT at the university science seminar complex.
“ The multi-disciplinary interaction with the academic community of other departments in the campus will engender novel ideas. This will help in self study which will contribute greatly to future research activities”, Dr. Madhusoodanan added. The Vice Chancellor exhorted the newcomers to clear whatever doubts they have asking questions in the class and through interactions with seniors thereby helping to preserve the academic culture prevailing in this campus.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. P G Sankaran presided over the programme. Syndicate members Prof. S M Sunoj and Dr. Poornima Narayan, Registrar Dr. K Ajitha and Director of International School of Photonics Dr. A Mujeeb also spoke at the function. In the three day programme, eminent academicians from leading institutions across India, former DGP Alexander Jacob and noted psychologist Vipin Roldant will lead classes.
