As part of ‘Navarathri’ celebrations under the auspices of N.S.S Karayogam, renowned danseuse Paravthi Menon performed ‘Kuchipudi’ in front of a selected audience at T.D.M hall, Ernakulum.
Parvathi is the disciple of Guru Kalamandalam Mohana Thulasi and A.B. Balakondala Rao. She performed ‘Ghanshyam’, an ode conceptualised in Kuchipudi to Lord Krishna. ‘Ghanshyam’ is the story of Lord Krishna from birth up to Gita rendition. The dance narrated the episodes from ‘Sreekrishna charitham’ warped in from romantic plays of different ages of Krishna.
Parvathi is a third year law student at Government Law College, Ernakulam. After graduating in mathematics, she earned diploma in Kuchipudi from Alliance University, Bangalore. She also earned C.C.R.T.C scholarship of Cultural Ministry, Government of India. She had performed Kuchipudi programmes like Brhamaganasabha, Chennai, Chidambaram nilai natyanjali 2014, Daasayam anantholsavam 2019, Swaralaya samanwayam2018, both inside and outside Kerala. Her performance named ‘Swathy Pranamam’, based on the works of Swathi Thirunal Maharaja in 2018 earned many accolades.
