The annual report, “How India Swiggy’d 2024- Swiggy Instamart Edition” reveals how Kochi embraced quick commerce this year, with quirky consumption trends reflecting the city’s unique rhythm and consumer behaviour.

    Amitesh Jha, CEO, Swiggy Instamart, said, “Since launching in November 2021, we’ve seen Kochi increasingly turn to the convenience of quick commerce, with everything from everyday essentials, toys, beauty, makeup, and even festive essentials delivered in just 10 minutes. The top purchases from the city include milk, onion, Yellaki Banana, Nendran Banana, and coriander leaves, with a city user spending as much as ₹6,18,549 on groceries, electronics and everything else they need in 10 mins. We’re proud to be a part of this journey, making convenience a part of daily life, and helping our customers enjoy what they need, when they need it.”

    Kochi’s Iconic Quick Commerce Trends in 2024
    ● Kochi’s favourites: The top 5 items ordered by the city were milk, onion (Savala), Yellaki Banana (Njalipoovan), Nendran Banana (Ethapazham), and coriander leaves (Malli Ila)

    ● Lightning speed delivery: Kochi recorded one of the fastest deliveries in India this year—an order of red amaranthus, Nendran bananas, and dishwashing gel delivered in just 89 seconds covering a distance of 1.1 km!

    ● Chip-aholic Central: when it comes to personal chip obsession, Kochi emerged as one of the top chip fanatics, with one user crunching away over 4,000 packets of chips alone!

    ● Silver Galore: A Kochi user recorded the highest single order value on Dhanteras, purchasing a Malabar Silver 1 Tola coin worth over ₹22,000—a true reflection of the city’s penchant for auspicious buys.

    ● The ultimate spender: The highest single-user spend from Kochi was recorded at ₹6,18,459!
