CHENNAI:
Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited Asia’s leading paint manufacturer today donated a cheque of Rs. 30,50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) for the ongoing relief work in Kerala, that has been battered by torrential rains and floods.
S Mahesh Anand (President), Raghunandan Menon (Zonal Manager- Kerala and Gujarat), and Sarith V. Dev (Regional Sales Manager- Kerala) met with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and offered the contribution as part of Nippon Paint’s effort to offer relief and recovery efforts to the impacted localities. The 30.5L donation is a joint contribution by NIPSEA Group, Singapore and the employees of Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited.
Talking about the effort, S Mahesh Anand, President – Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division) commented, “Kerala has remained one state we have had close ties with, and we are deeply saddened by the current plight of the state. Nippon Paint is overwhelmed by the support of its employees in raising funds for the relief causes and we are committed to assisting in the large challenge of rebuilding the state and addressing the health, safety and housing needs of its residents”.
The funding is primarily targeted at helping the affected residents of the state receive proper healthcare, housing and other essential support. In addition, Nippon Paint is also committed to assist with the immediate and longer-term recovery needs of 1000-1500 of its worst impacted painters by offering them necessary aid. The Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund is an emergency assistance release mechanism granting immediate relief to families and individuals distressed by calamity, loss of life due to accidents and chronic diseases.
