THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
R.K. Kulshrestha has assumed charge as General Manager of Southern Railway today (31st October 2017). Prior to assuming charge as GM/Southern Railway, he was General Manager, Northern Railway.
He graduated from IIT, Roorkee in 1979 and joined Indian Railway Services of Electrical Engineers of 1980 batch. He has worked in various capacities in Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, Southern Railway, South Central Railway, West Central Railway and RDSO/Lucknow.
He has worked as Additional Divisional Railway Manager/ Vijayawada, South Central Railway for 2 years from 2001 to 2003 and Divisional Railway Manager/Kharagpur, South Eastern Railway for 2 ½ years from 2011 to 2013. He has also worked as Chief Safety Officer/Southern Railway and Principal Head of Department of Electrical Branch of Southern Railway.
