Neuberg Diagnostics Organizes Walkathon to Spread Awareness on Diabetes

On the sidelines of World Diabetes Day, Neuberg Diagnostics, India’s fourth-largest diagnostic lab chain in association with Karunya Hospital, had arranged the World Diabetes Walkathon to raise awareness about diabetes. Through the campaign, Neuberg aimed to encourage everyone to know major risk factors related to diabetes, the steps one can take to fight, manage, prevent, and how one could care for their loved ones.

As a part of prevention and early diagnosis, Neuberg Diagnostics is also offering free sugar tests to all on the 13, 14, and 15 of November, 2021 at Karunya Healthcare, Kozhikode.

Councilor P. Divakaran, who flagged off the walkathon today, said, “There is a dire need for constant collaborative efforts towards creating awareness around diabetes. Through this campaign, we would like the people to know that they must embrace a healthy lifestyle and avoid sugar-sweetened beverages, food that contains trans fats, sweetened cereals, and other foods that will increase the risk of developing diabetes.”

Aishwarya Vasudevan, Chief Operating Officer, Neuberg Diagnostics, said, “Growing evidence suggests that during the pandemic people with diabetes have not been able to go for regular check-ups. Interestingly, during lab tests, we observed that many individuals at risk of diabetes or pre diabetic were completely unaware. Keeping this in mind, we at Neuberg have committed that we will continue to do our bit in creating awareness around health and wellness-related issues.”
