THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Trivandrum Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has made arrangements for the public to view various processes at its Thiruvananthapuram Dairy in the city on November 25 and 26 as part of the National Milk Day celebrations.
The country celebrates November 26 as the National Milk Day, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Dr Verghese Kurien, the father of India’s White Revolution.
Water colour painting and quiz competitions for school children have also been planned as part of the celebrations on November 21 and 22 respectively. These competitions will be held at Milma’s Thiruvananthapuram Dairy at Ambalathara in the city from 9.30 am. One team from each school can participate in the competitions. The participating teams should register with the Trivandrum Dairy before November 20.
Public can visit the Thiruvananthapuram Dairy at Ambalathara both on Nov 25 and 26 to see various stages of the processes from collection of milk brought from the primary milk co-operatives, pasteurization of milk with the help of the state-of-the-art machines, packaging and transporting the processed milk and other dairy products to sales points. Also, the visitors will get an opportunity to see production of other products of Milma like ghee, curd, cheese and ice cream.
This will be an opportunity for the public to understand the strict quality protocols followed by Milma in every stage of processing. This will help reinforce the consumer trust in Milma’s products, TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener Shri N Bhasurangan said.
