KOCHI:
Federal Bank has been showing keen interest in the social issues and has been making meaningful interventions since the inception of the Bank.
Even as the Bank grows taller with its business achievements, the roots it has spread in society keep growing deeper. Gender equality is a social value that the Bank has been practicing and propagating. Forty percent of Federal Bank’s employees are women who find their workplace egalitarian, which keeps their morale high. The representation of women in the Bank in its board of directors, top and middle management teams and the branches and the contribution made by them to the growth of the Bank is remarkably high. In a general social setting that tends to intimidate its women population, the Bank wishes to spread the word about women power through its own lady employees. Accordingly, the Bank has planned a motorcycle expedition on Royal Enfield Bullets exclusively for the women employees.
At a grand function held in Marine Drive, Ernakulam today, the ride was flagged off by R Sreelekha (DGP). Shalini Warrier, Chief Operating Officer of the Bank, Shabnam PM, Vice President and Head Legal Department of Federal Bank addressed the gathering. This 20 day ride flagged off today from Kochi will reach New Delhi on 20 th August
2018.
While this ride is an engagement activity for the Bank’s lady employees, the broader objective of the expedition is a national level awareness of gender equality. The riders and the Bank will be carriers of this message of gender equality throughout this expedition. During these 20 days, the riders will, at every stopover, spread the message of women empowerment and lend confidence to the sisterhood.
