Muthoot Finance announced the launch of the second edition of marriage assistance programme as part of its CSR initiatives. Financial assistance up to Rs. 2 Lakhs will be provided for the marriage of daughters of widows from poor families.
The programme initially launched in 2016 was available in the districts of Kottayam, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Palakkad. Ernakulam and Kottayam districts are included in the second stage of the programme for the year 2018-19. The programme will be extended to other districts in future. The financial assistance will be provided for the daughters of widows with a monthly income less than Rs. 10,000/-.
Applications along with the recommendation of the elected representative of people should be supported by the following documents. 1. Certificate from the village officer stating that the applicant is a widow.
2. Invitation card or other documents and details proving the date of marriage.
The applications superscripted “Application for the Muthoot Marriage Assistance Programme” should reach the following address before 25 November 2018. Marriage assistance is being provided by Muthoot Finance via Muthoot M. George Foundation for the last several years. Rs. 74 lakhs was provided as marriage assistance in the year 2017-18. The new programme was started to provide the assistance in a more meaningful way.

George, Executive Vice President, Muthoot Finance addressing the press conference said, that the programme is being dedicated as a marriage gift for the poor ladies in the districts of Ernakulam and Kottayam. Muthoot Finance will always be providing a helping hand to the needy and poor people of the society, he added.
