NEW DELHI:
Prominent Muslim leaders have come forward to express their support for the newly proposed Waqf Bill, asserting that it aims to bring greater transparency and efficiency in the management of Waqf properties across the country.
Leaders from various communities have lauded the bill’s emphasis on accountability and regulation, stating that it will help prevent misuse of Waqf assets and ensure their proper utilization for the welfare of the community.
Speaking at a press conference, noted leader Maulana Asad Khan said, “The Waqf Bill is a positive step towards ensuring that Waqf properties are used for the benefit of the deserving. Those opposing it are merely trying to politicize the issue for their own gains.”
Another community leader, Syed Ahmed, added, “If the bill ensures transparency, why should anyone oppose it? Our focus should be on effective management and safeguarding these properties.”
Supporters of the bill have also criticized its detractors for allegedly spreading misinformation and trying to create unwarranted fear among the community. They urged the government to expedite the implementation process and ensure a fair and impartial approach.
The Waqf Bill has triggered extensive debates across the country, with both supporters and critics expressing their views. However, many believe that if implemented effectively, it could mark a significant step towards better governance and accountability in Waqf property management.
