This was announced by Minister for Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry J. Chinchurani at a press conference here on Tuesday.
TRCMPU Chairperson Mani Vishwanath, Milma MD Asif K Yusuf, and TRCMPU MD, R Rararaj were also present.
The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (TRCMPU), which is conducting a recruitment drive after 12 years, has a total of 198 permanent vacancies in various posts. The Malabar Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (MRCMPU) has 47 permanent vacancies.
The state government has already agreed in principle to provide for job reservation for dairy farmers and their dependents for the vacancies available in Milma. In the current round of recruitments, they will be entitled for reservation in certain posts, as per the norms drawn up by an eight-member panel in this regard, the Minister said.
There will be reservation for SC/ST communities and the differently abled in the recruitment process as per the existing quota norms.
“The recruitment drive will also encourage more youth to enter the dairy sector. It also comes as the government’s efforts to address the unemployment problem by filling available vacancies,” the Minister added.
