THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
In good news for dairy farmers and milk cooperative societies in southern districts on the New Year, Milma’s Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) has announced an additional price incentive of Rs. 4.15 crore.
The decision in this regard was taken by the TRCMPU Board, its Chairman Mani Viswanath said today.
As part of the incentive, milk societies under TRCMPU will be given an additional sum of Rs. 5 on each litre of milk procured in October 2025. Of this, Rs. 3 will go to the farmers, Rs. one for the milk societies and Rs. one will be deposited as additional share of the societies.
The payment in this regard will be made available to milk societies along with the third milk procurement bill of December 2025.
Dairy farmers of milk societies affiliated to TRCMPU in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts will benefit from the increase.
In addition to this, the cattle feed subsidy at the rate of Rs 100 per bag will continue in January 2026 as well, Viswanath added.
