Social activist Medha Patkar will be visiting the residents of Puthuvype who have launched indefinite strike against the construction of the LPG terminal at the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) plant, on March 2.
Medha Patkar will release the book ‘Prakrithi Pradhama Chikitsakal’ written by Dr Jacob Vadakkanchery on the occasion. She will also deliver a lecture on ‘Modern Invasion and People’s Alternatives’.
LPG Terminal Virudha Janakeeya Samara Samithi M B Jayaghosh said that Vypeen Island has become a prey for the modern colonialism. Corporates are evicting the people from the area and encroaching land and sea for the past several years.
Medha Patkar is visiting Puthuvype residents in these context. The book of Dr Jacob Vadakkanchery, who was fighting against the corporate invasion and allopathy medicines, will be released here, he added.
