Pre-requisites for a COVID-19 hospital set-up needs unique infrastructure such as ICU, ventilators, and beds with oxygen, along with a team of Intensivists and other specialists in order to prevent aerosol-based transmission. The ICU area should be fitted with systems capable of creating Negative Pressure with HEPA Filtered Exhausts.

Special training for Doctors, Nurses and support staff like Donning and Doffing, use and disposal of Personal Protective Equipment, inventory management, Infection Control Practice, COVID-19 treatment protocols and psychosocial resilience, etc. have been conducted by a team of expert professionals. Also, the whole hospital is reorganised to provide unidirectional flow for staff, patients, supplies and biomedical wastes.
