Mathrubhumi.com the digital news platforms of mathrubhumi group was recently conferred with a bronze metal at South Asian Digital Media Awards 2019 jointly presented by Wan – IFRA, (World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers,) and Google.
Creating its impact in the industry the metal was honoured to Mathrubhumi under Best use of online video – Fire & Flame. The series Fire & Flame consist of news articles that give insights in to the lives of ordinary people who have won many hearts by doing extraordinary things in their day to day life.

This year the award saw more than 80 entries from over 20 south Asian media companies which were evaluated by an International jury comprising of high ranked professionals from media industry.
The South Asian digital media awards presented by WAN –IFRA and Google, recognise publishers who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major changes in how people consume news today. Wan- ifra digital media awards are presented in every region across the world and the winners from each region subsequently compete for the world digital media awards.
WAN-IFRA, which organises the awards programme jointly presented with Google, is the global organisation of the world’s press which derives its authority from its global network of 3,000 news publishing companies and technology entrepreneurs, and its legitimacy from its 80 member publisher associations representing 18,000 publications in 120 countries.
