CHENNAI:
Makkal Needhi Maiam party’s Lawyers wing meeting was held at the Party Head Quarters in Chennai. Party President Kamal Haasan presided over the meeting.
While addressing the gathering, he said, “A lawyers committee comprising of six lawyers will be formed for each parliamentary constituency, within two days.”
Outlining the roles and responsibilities of the committee, he said, “The role of lawyers in Makkal Needhi Maiam party winning all the 40 seats is indispensable. They are pivotal in filing the nomination for the candidates, preventing distribution of money by other political parties, tackling the falsely fabricated cases filled on our party members by the ruling and opposition party, helping the candidates understand and follow the election code of conduct.”
Coordinator of Makkal Needhi Maiam party’s Lawyer’s Wing, K.Guruviah (Retired District Judge) organised today’s meeting in which hundreds of Lawyers from all over Thamizh Nadu.
