THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Kerala Chapter, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to handhold startups in various technology and business domains.
TiE, a non-profit global organization with a large network of entrepreneurs, will offer mentoring, international exposure, investor-connect, investment and industry linkages, business expertises, besides leveraging the TiE network to help startups.
Dr Saji Gopinath, CEO, KSUM, and MSA Kumar, President, TiE, signed the MoU at a function at Kochi on Monday. Vijay Menon, Global Executive Director, TiE , was present on the occasion.
As per the MoU that lasts for two years, TiE will extend help to the startups at different stages, including scaling up of their products and institutionalization of ventures. Kerala has over 1,800 technology startups.
The KSUM will help TiE in proper selection of start-up Ideas, its valuation, legal assessment as well as assistance. TiE will also get aid to other key activities relating to investing in startup ventures. The KSUM shall recommend to TiE chapter members the right startups that have great potential.
Meanwhile, TiE will support the startup ecosystem by way of connecting the stake holders to the KSUM through Global Launchpad programmes conducted by TiE Global. The Kerala Startup Ecosystem will be conceptualized by TiE in consultation with various stake holders and supported by the KSUM.
TiE, as a knowledge partner, will also organize regular events in association with KSUM for creating awareness, experience sharing, mentoring sessions, funding sessions etc. It will actively partake in the various startup schemes implemented by the KSUM. The KSUM is the nodal agency of Government of Kerala for promoting entrepreneurship in the state and the implementing body for the Kerala Technology Startup Policy that supports startup ecosystem.
