He was holding this post for three years and one month. Sudheeran made the announcement at KPCC headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. Sudheeran said he would give the resignation letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi on Friday. He was injured in a recent accident at Kozhikode.
Sudheeran said that he had taken the decision based on the advice from doctors. It will take prolonged treatment and hence cannot carry out duty as KPCC president to its fullest sense, he said.
Sudheeran declared his decision in the midst of a press conference, saying he had not discussed this with anyone, including his closest confidantes, in the party in Kerala or outside.
