KOCHI:
Building your dream home and wish that you could design the surface tiles that would go into it?
The solution is at hand in the form of an app called “Free Hand” conceptualised by renowned architect couple Lijo Jos and his wife Reny Lijo in association with Tiles, Marble and Mosaico firm NITCO.
The app was formally launched in a special session held as a part of the Open House of the ongoing Kochi Design Week today at NITCO’s Le Studio in Edappally here. The app will enable end-users to create their own choice designs on tiles.
Lijo Jos speaking at the launch event said, “This app has been created as part of our efforts to democratise design and empowering the home owner to carve out their own tiles. It will give users the opportunity to select their desired colour themes.” The patterns in the tiles on display at the showroom reflect the stroke of a broad paint brush.
Subrata Basu, Vice-President (Design) of 1953-established NITCO, said the company was always in the forefront of creating user-friendly designs and patterns. “Once an user uploads a design on the app, NITCO will work to bring them to reality on tiles, and deliver them to the clients.”
“The Kochi Design Week has emerged as a great platform for design enthusiasts from across the country and the world to converge and network,” he added.
