THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Kerala Football Team that brought back the Santosh Trophy to the state after a span of fourteen years was felicitated by Kerala Tourism at Mascot Hotel on Friday.
Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan honored team coach Satheevan Balan and the players at the event. Minister for Tourism, Cooperation and Devaswom Kadakampally Surendran presided over the function.
The Tourism Department distributed mementos to the entire team. Congratulating the players for their achievement, Minister for Sports A.C.Moideen said that Kerala Football has made the entire state proud by lifting the Santhosh Trophy yet again.
“The Kerala Football team has made the entire people of Kerala proud by bringing back the Santhosh Trophy to the state after fourteen years. Let’s hope that the team continues its ride of success going ahead,” said Moideen.
Minister for Transport A.K.Saseendran, DGP Loknath Behera, Deputy Speaker V. Sasi, B.Sathyan MLA, D.K. Murali MLA, O.Rajagopal MLA, Tourism Director P.Balakiran were among those who were present at the event.The event was held on ‘Victory Day’, which was announced by the state government to celebrate the sixth triumph of Kerala Football in Santosh Trophy.
