THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Startups from Kerala, groomed by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), secured a raft of business opportunities, including MoUs, at the three-day Startup Mahakumbh 2025 that concluded in New Delhi today.
Around 25 KSUM startups from multiple domains showcased their innovative products and solutions at the second edition of the national event.
‘Startup India @ 2047: Unfolding the Bharat Story’ was the theme of the event held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, which saw the convergence of startup promoters, mentors, industry leaders and policy-makers.
KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said apart from grabbing business opportunities, some startups have signed MoUs as part of on-boarding vendors.
“Startups from Kerala also generated leads regarding potential collaborations in various domains. Startup Mahakumbh provided them a unique opportunity to connect with investors and engage with key stakeholders in the ecosystem,” he noted.
India’s first AI teacher robot, ‘Iris,’ developed by Makerlabs Edutech, was a big draw at the expo. Muhammed Salim, representative of Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), visited the stalls of Kerala startups and expressed willingness for collaboration.
Kerala-based startups showcased their products and solutions on the pavilion of Government e Marketplace (GeM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Startup India, and also stalls of Parivartan Grant and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
The event was designed as a platform to feature products and services from the entire country before leading stakeholders including investors, mentors and decision-makers. It served as a venue to showcase innovation and build partnerships, both vital in shaping the future of India’s startup landscape.
The event was packed with exciting activities like mentorship clinics, pitch competitions, and multi-track conversations featuring leadership talks, panel discussions and workshops for startups as well as budding entrepreneurs.
