India’s most exciting, glamorous and credible beauty pageant is underway and continues its talent hunt in Kochi at fbb/ Big Bazaar, Centre Square Mall, MG Road.

The auditions were judged by Poornima Indrajith –She is an Indian actress, Fashion Designer, television anchor and talk show host who acted in Malayalam and Tamil films. She started her career as a model and then went on to host a music countdown show Pepsi Top Ten on Asianet.
She acted in many successful television soaps such as Oomakkuyil. She has also acted in many movies, including Meghamalhar, Valliettan, and Randam Bhavam. She received the best supporting actress award for her role in Meghamalhar. She hosted a television show KadhaIthuVare on Mazhavil Manorama channel. Recently she turned into a fashion designer and runs a boutique by name Pranah. She writes a regular column named ‘In Style’; for ‘Chithrabhumi’ a supplement of Mathrubhumi.
With a new and improvised format this year, Miss India in its 54 th edition will be touring to all 30 states of the nation and to crown 30 state representatives who will then compete for the coveted Miss India crown. The top 3 of Kerala have been given a golden ticket to the south zonal crowning ceremony to be held in Bengaluru at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Bengaluru on 5th March. In Bengaluru the most deserving candidate from each of the 5 states i.e. Miss India Kerala, Miss India Karnataka, Miss India Tamil Nadu, Miss India Andhra Pradesh, Miss India Telangana will represent their state at the grand finale which is going to be held in Mumbai in June.
For the very first time, the pageant will host mentors for each zone who will guide the contestants to merit. To take charge of the proceeding for the South Zone we have none other than the Miss World 2008 first runner up, South Siren, actress and model Parvathy Omanakuttan.
She enthusiastically quoted, “It’s my pleasure to mentor these girls and will do everything in my capacity to train them. And I am confident that this year’s Miss India will be from the South.”

The auditions were concluded with the felicitation of the top three contestants, where the fbb / Big Bazaar Store Manager Berney Sandi presented a bouquet to each of the winning contestants.
