KOCHI:
The seventh edition of Kerala Health Tourism being organised by Confederation of Indian Industry will be held at Hotel Le Meridien on July 3 and 4.
The exhibition and conference is being organised as India is becoming the most preferred healthcare destination among the foreigners. A growing number of tourists are flocking to India for the superlative medical treatment that is being provided by the skilled doctors.
The NITI Aayog identified the Medical Value Travel as a major source of foreign exchange earnings. According to a recent study India has nearly 18% of the global medical tourism market.
The Kerala Health Tourism will mainly have 3 components – an International Conference, Exclusive Medical Exposition and B2B Meeting. The event will provide an interactive platform during which practitioners and leading experts in the Medical Tourism sector will share, discuss and construct strategies for future growth and innovation. We are expecting to have more than 400 delegates for the conference (national & international) and above 1000 visitors for the exhibition.
The Kerala Health Tourism 2019 will deliberate on the Importance of Cultural Competency in International Patient Care; Challenges In Healthcare Insurance & Medical Tourism; Medical Tourism Marketing : New Age Online Marketing / The Power of Public Relations; The Future of Telemedicine and Health; Specialised Treatments in Health Tourism – Sports, Dentistry, Eye care, Geriatrics; Role of Medical Facilitators in Medical Tourism; Using Technology to Power your Healthcare Business etc. There will be a Banquet Session on day 1 on “Health Tourism and way forward” by an eminent personality – apart from Inaugural Sessions and Valedictory sessions of the Summit.
As per the 2016 statistics, Kerala attracts only 5-7 per cent of medical value travel, which is equivalent to $200 million annually. Kerala has the potential to increase the inflow of medical value tourists by 10-15 per cent.
