Kerala Blasters is happy to announce the signing of Malappuram born, Mid-fielder, Arjun Jayaraj. The 23-year old footballer started his career at MSP Football Academy and was selected, the best player in the 2012 Subroto Cup.
Further, Arjun represented Calicut University when they won the All India Championship. His performance during a friendly match between Gokulam and Calicut University won him a chance to join the I-league side Gokulam Kerala FC.
Arjun came to fame through his football skills during the 2017-18, Kerala Premier League wherein he appeared for Gokulam Kerala FC and scored a goal in the final that helped the club win the title.
Although he had only one goal in his kitty during the season, he played a crucial role in the midfield that led to the dramatic turnaround of the club. Hence he was included in the Gokulam I-league squad wherein he made his professional debut in 2017, against Indian Arrows.
“Arjun is a versatile player with good technical abilities. He can play multiple positions-the wing and the mid-field. It is always good to have a multi-functional player who is both left and right footed. I’m very happy to have signed him on to the team and looking forward to working with him”, says KBFC Head Coach, Eelco Schattorie.
