Katha Infocom Pvt. Ltd., an innovative startup specialising in advertising innovation, has been recognised as the Emerging Startup of the Year at the KFC Startup Conclave 2024. The award was presented by Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal at the prestigious event organised by the Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC) to celebrate excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation within the state’s dynamic startup ecosystem.
The company’s flagship platform, Katha Ads, has gained attention for its unique model of leveraging personal networks to disseminate brand messages. Eschewing traditional performance marketing strategies, Katha Ads enables brands to connect with consumers through trusted intermediaries—family, friends, and personal contacts—leading to more personalized and impactful advertising.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishan M., CEO of Katha Infocom, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “This award underscores the potential of community-driven advertising in creating meaningful brand engagements. Our journey, bolstered by the support of KFC and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), reflects our belief in innovation and the power of human connections,” he said.
Katha Ads has formed partnerships with several major brands across industries such as consumer electronics, automobiles, textiles, healthcare, and FMCG. With over 7 lakh users, referred to as ‘zoners,’ the platform currently serves the Kerala and Tamil Nadu markets, reaching a combined audience of over 3.2 crore people. Notably, Katha Ads has disbursed ₹1.15 crore to its users, underscoring its commitment to rewarding community participation.
The KFC Startup Conclave 2024, held in the capital, also honoured other startups making strides in their respective sectors. Navalt Solar and Electric Boats Pvt. Ltd. won the Green Energy Startup of the Year award, while Genrobotic Innovations Pvt. Ltd. was recognised as the Social Impactor of the Year.
