Kunnamthanam Providence Home and Kalayapuram Jose have won ‘Award for Excellence in Social Service’ for this year, constituted by K Chittilappilly foundation.
Kunnamthanam Providence Home, situated at Kunnamthanam in Pathanamthitta District as been selected as the best organization working for social service, while Kalayapuram Jose was honored with best social worker award. Sister Mary Jincy, president of Providence Home received the award consisting Rs. 2 lakh and plaque. Jose Kalayapuram, director of Ashraya Charitable Society at Kottarakkara in Kollam district was given away the award consisting Rs. One lakh and plaque during the program.
While addressing the award distribution ceremony, K Chittilappilly Foundation chairman Kochouseph Chittilappilly said It is not difficult for healthy people to find a job in Kerala, while it is difficult for sick and differently abled. The Foundation constituted the award to honor individuals and organizations who take care of those people.
Individual awards for social work were given away to K S Aji Kumar, Madhuja Kumar, Tiffany Maria Brar, Savior Pothampally and Eliamma Mathew, while Maria Sadanam charitable trust Pala, Sneha Jyothi charitable society Perumbavoor, Navakerala Samskarika Vedi Malappuram and Raksha Society Mattanchery won award for organizations. Lourde Matha care Home, Thiruvananthapuram, Lakshmi Menon of Ernakulam and Dr. U K Shyam of Kollam have won special jury award.
Award winners were selected from applicants across the state. Judging panel chairman K Vijayan received news letter released by Sheela Kochouseph, Director of K Chittilappilly Foundation in connection with the award distribution ceremony. K Chittilappilly Foundation executive director Dr. George Sleeba, director Jacob Kuruvila and manager BentlyThadikkaran attended the program.
