The Janata Dal UDF faction with Lok Thantrik Janata Dal has decided to merge with Rasthriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The Janata Dal faction general secretary Cholakkara Mohammed Master informed that the decision was taken following the Lok Thantrik Janata Dal deciding to support the LDF. The decision was taken for a socialist unification in the country. The leaders who decided to merge with RJD include State secretary genreal Dr George Joseph, treasurer Mohandas Vilangara, Youth Janata Dal State secretary Sreejith Perambra, former secretary Lijas Koyilothu, district secretary Chandran Pookkinarambathu, treasurer V Gopalakrishnan and hundreds of other leaders and members. Prof George Joseph has been appointed as the secretary general, Cholakkata Mohammed Master as State general secretary and Mohandas Vilangara as State secretary of RJD.
