KOCHI:
Industries Minister P Rajeeve today launched the website of the Invest Kerala Global Summit, which will be held in Kochi in February next year. The investment summit will be held on February 21 and 22 at the Grand Hyatt Lulu Convention Center in Kochi.
Rajeeve said the conclave would showcase the 22 priority sectors announced in the state’s new industrial policy. He said more than 2,000 delegates are expected to participate in the summit, which would consider realistic proposals.
For this, the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) is holding sectoral discussions with stakeholders for priority sectors that have reached the final stages. Roadshows were held in Bengaluru and Chennai, while roadshows in Delhi and Mumbai will be completed by next month.
“The government has made all necessary legal frameworks to take the state on the path of faster industrial growth,” Rajeeve said. “The summit aims to consolidate investments coming to the state with the cooperation of various departments.”
A special conclave for investors from the Gulf is another highlight of the summit. The summit will feature an exhibition of industries and enterprises operating successfully from Kerala.
There will also be business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings, startup pitching, etc.
Organisations such as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and TiE-Kerala, which fosters entrepreneurship, support the summit.
Industries Department Principal Secretary APM Muhammed Haneesh, KSIDC Managing Director S Harikishore, Executive Director Hari Krishnan R, General Manager Varghese Malakkaran, and others attended the press conference held to launch the website.
