Hibi Eden stresses upon the fact that Integrated Transportation Projects is a necessity of the hour in the present scenario. He was speaking to the public after visiting the Jetty near Vytilla Mobility Hub, Irumpanam Jetty etc.
He said Water transportation facilities along the with road transportation is of utmost important for a city like Kochi. For the absolute success of Metro Rail Project water transportation projects, last mile connectivity etc. has to be executed with necessary planning. He assured more funds from the central government for integrated transportation projects in the city. He added, Last mile connectivity project will be included in the ‘Envision Ernakulam’ initiative and the policies will be formulated with the inputs from public.
At present there is boat service from Vytilla to Irumpanam. Such a service is a relief for the commuters travelling to Infopark and nearby places within half an hour’s time. But the discontinuation of Feeder Service from Irumpanam has caused trouble to the commuters. He requested the water transportation department to restart the feeder service with immediate effect.
