  • Inker Robotics Concludes the 3-dayTraining Workshop on the Industry Automation

By NE Reporter on January 23, 2021

    THRISSUR:
Inker Robotics, a leading robotics company in India, concluded the three-day free workshop on Industrial Automation with the overwhelming participation of over 200 students and faculty members of eminent institutes. The workshop was organized in association with Mumbai-based Absolute Motion, a leader in Industrial Automation. The sessions were led by Alister D’Silva, Lead Trainer along with a team of experts with extensive experience in Industrial Automation. The four-hour session each day offered hands-on training and the opportunity to learn from the industry experts.

Prakash G.S., Joint Director, MSME Development Institute Thrissur, Fr. John Paliakkara, Executive Director, Christ College of Engineering, Fr. Jose Kannampuzha, Jyothi Engineering college were the keynote speakers. In these addresses, they elaborated on the tectonic shift across industries, scope, and the need for skilled labor with industry-oriented training for the students to ‘Be Future Ready’. Inker Robotics received an enthusiastic response with over 300 nominations from Kerala for the workshop. Due to the COVID-19 related restrictions, the organizers could accommodate 90 students and faculties from Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kollam, Calicut, and Palakkad at the Inker facility in Thrissur. In addition, shortlisted 50 registered participants were provided with the opportunity to participate in the online live session.

“Inker Robotics aims to bring pertinent, affordable, and accessible Robotic education to the students to address the need for skilled labor in various industrial automation platforms that offer immense potential. This includes the MSME sector that opens a wide range of opportunities for India in the field of Robotics. These workshops are a step towards our larger vision to develop a strong ecosystem and contribute to the World of Robotics in India,” said Rahul Balachandran, CEO, Inker Robotics, a visionary in the field of Robotics and the brain behind the first educational humanoid Robot ALTON.

“The sessions were extremely interesting as we shared our industrial experience and knowledge with highly enthusiastic participants. We were encouraged to see the willingness of the faculty members also to add the practical aspects to their understanding of automation. This was an enriching experience to be part of this commendable effort by the team of Inker Robotic,” said Alister D’Silva, Director, Absolute Motion.

After attending the workshop, Shahzad Abdul Salam, a student of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kodhamangalam said, “The workshop opened a whole new dimension of practical learning to us to the world of automation with a closer look at the industry, it’s nature and would help us to acquire the skills to be industry ready. We found it a very enriching experience especially working on some of the high-end equipment during the workshop and get some closed understanding.”

Commenting on the success of the workshop, Amith Raman, COO Inker Robotics said, “The response in terms of registration and while during the workshop was overwhelming and we are glad to see the future generation being so enthusiastic towards learning. The future-generation looks promising, along with some guidance and mentoring we can help them become more industry-ready. We look forward to conducting more training sessions like this as a part of our academic development programs.”
As part of the continuous efforts to create and build an ecosystem, Inker Robotics has been successfully organizing similar workshops like ‘Hello Robots’ session for school students across the country since July 2020 with a purpose to create awareness on Robotics, AI and Emerging Technologies among students and enable them to BE FUTURE READY. Inker Robotics would touch a benchmark figure of 5,000 hours (total hours of training) of workshops conducted to date as part of its larger vision of creating a strong ecosystem. This commitment and team effort helped Inker create the BEST ROBO LAB Set Up in India. Inker Robotics was awarded the Best ROBO LAB SET UP in INDIA in 2019 at an event held at IIT DELHI by the All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA).
