KOCHI:
Showcasing the creative flair of its employees in a tasteful line-up of 90 images, a photography exhibition is on at Infopark in the city, marking a fresh chapter in the 20th anniversary celebrations of the IT complex renowned for an array of tenants.
The five-day ‘Thumbnail 2024’, which highlights the diverse talents of Infopark employees, serves a visual journey through Kerala’s stunning landscapes and cultural heritage. The photos, on public display at the campus till this Friday, are available for sales as well.
Being organized by the Infopark Photography Club (IPC) and Infopark, the event was formally inaugurated by Infopark Manager (Administration) Regi K. Thomas.
The event is testimony to a parallel vibrancy of the minds of the employees amid their regular trysts with IT solutions.
Angel H. Fernandez, who founded the IPC last year, highlighted the dedication and hard work that have gone into each of the photographs. “Since inception, the club has organized various workshops and photo-walks. An exhibition of this kind, though, is for the first time by IPC.”
From the intricate details of nature to the grandeur of cultural festivals, the photographs provide a broad glimpse to the world. Not only do they feature captivating images of Kerala’s flora and fauna; equally enchanting are the photographs on traditional arts.
For instance, the elusive Malabar Giant Squirrel, the majestic leopard and the colorful kingfisher light up the photos that portray the beauty of animals and birds around. On the other hand are images of the pre-classical Mudiyettu temple theatre and ritualistic Theyyam known for its spiritual dimension, while glimpses of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race narrate the festive vibrancy on the vast expanses of the backwaters.
What’s more, the exhibition features certain unusual perspectives. Such as the NEOWISE, which is a particularly bright comet in the northern hemisphere. Similar out-of-the-box inclusions get further padded up by thought-provoking images — some of them being on off-beat religious acts and cryptic symbolism involved in the routine drills of even insects.
